Job Title: Director of Business Development – Personal Injury

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Hours & Schedule: Full-Time, In-Person

Work Environment: Office-based with frequent in-person meetings and external networking

Travel Required: Yes – local and regional travel for client meetings and industry events

Salary / Hourly Rate: $120,000 – $150,000 base salary

Bonus Offered: On-Target Earnings (OTE): $200,000 – $300,000+ with uncapped commission and performance-based bonuses

Job Summary:

The Director of Business Development – Personal Injury is responsible for driving growth through strategic relationship-building with personal injury attorneys, law firms, and referral networks. This role will lead and develop a team of business development professionals while expanding utilization of behavioral health and specialty evaluation services. The position requires strong leadership, market expertise, and the ability to execute a high-touch, referral-based growth strategy within a lien-based service model.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, and expand relationships with plaintiff personal injury attorneys, law firms, and medical-legal referral networks
  • Drive referral volume for neuro evaluations, psychological evaluations, spinal cord evaluations, and behavioral health therapy services
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of business development professionals
  • Establish performance expectations, KPIs, and accountability measures across the team
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members to support growth initiatives
  • Develop and execute a relationship-driven business development strategy
  • Conduct in-person meetings, firm visits, and networking activities to generate new business
  • Identify and penetrate new markets and high-value law firm partnerships
  • Educate partners on clinical value and lien-based service model
  • Track referral activity, case volume, and revenue performance metrics
  • Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Represent the organization at legal and industry events

Prerequisites / License & Certification Requirements:

  • 7–10+ years of business development or sales experience in personal injury, healthcare services, or legal-related industries
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with PI attorneys and law firms
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of lien-based billing and case lifecycle
  • Ability to drive both individual and team performance outcomes
  • Existing network within the personal injury ecosystem preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
