Job description


Position Summary:
  • We are seeking a motivated and curious Innovation Lab Engineering Intern to support technical initiatives within the lab. This role provides exposure to cutting-edge power and thermal management technologies, laboratory testing operations, and the application of AI tools to improve engineering workflows. The ideal candidate has a mechanical or electrical engineering background, strong problem-solving skills, and an interest in learning how emerging AI technologies can enhance engineering productivity, knowledge sharing, and decision-making.

Responsibilities: -
  • Work with engineers and lab personnel to understand test activities, equipment, procedures, and operational workflows.
  • Develop and maintain a custom AI agent that serves as a knowledge assistant that improves access to technical documentation, test procedures, engineering standards, and institutional knowledge.
  • Expand the agent's capabilities to enable it to assist with system troubleshooting and data analysis.
  • Evaluate and improve AI assistant performance through prompt engineering, retrieval optimization, and user feedback analysis.

Requirements: -
  • Must be pursuing a degree in Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and a demonstrated work ethic
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats
  • Willingness to learn quickly in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality work
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team setting
  • Strong foundation in mechanical/electrical engineering fundamentals, with the ability to apply first-principles reasoning and systems thinking to analyze complex, interconnected systems.
