Physical security management is a vital aspect of an organization’s operations and protects against serious threats of harm and loss, such as vandalism, theft, and terror attacks. Physical security management team members develop and enforce wide-scale protections and contingencies to prevent data breaches and loss of property. Standard security measures include fenced walls, surveillance cameras, and controlled access to restricted areas.

Physical Security Managers regularly work closely with departments such as Facilities, IT, Human Resources, and Operations to ensure comprehensive protection of people, assets, and information. They often coordinate security protocols for new hires or terminations with HR, collaborate with IT on access control and surveillance technologies, and partner with Facilities to assess building vulnerabilities or plan security upgrades. Effective communication and cross-departmental teamwork are essential to address potential risks and implement security initiatives seamlessly.
