What is a Photogrammetry job?

A photogrammetry job involves using photography to create precise 3D models and maps of objects, environments, or terrains. Professionals in this field analyze images from drones, satellites, or cameras to extract measurements and spatial data. They work in industries like surveying, architecture, archaeology, gaming, and virtual reality. Photogrammetrists use specialized software to process images and create detailed reconstructions for various applications. Strong technical skills in imaging, GIS, and 3D modeling are essential for this role.

What typical daily tasks and responsibilities can I expect as a photogrammetrist?

As a photogrammetrist, your daily responsibilities usually include processing aerial or satellite imagery, generating maps and 3D models, and ensuring data accuracy through detailed analysis. You'll often collaborate with surveyors, GIS specialists, and engineers to support construction, urban planning, or environmental projects. Quality control, documentation, and communicating technical findings to non-experts are regular parts of the job. The role often requires both fieldwork (such as collecting geospatial data) and office-based analysis using specialized software, offering a dynamic and varied workday.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Photogrammetry position, and why are they important?

To thrive in photogrammetry, you need a solid background in mathematics, geography, and spatial analysis, typically supported by a degree in geomatics, surveying, or a related field. Familiarity with photogrammetric software (such as Agisoft Metashape or Pix4D), GIS platforms, CAD tools, and knowledge of remote sensing technologies is crucial, and some employers may prefer professional certifications in geospatial sciences. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills help distinguish top performers. These competencies are essential for producing high-quality spatial data and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in mapping and surveying projects.

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Posted 14 days ago

Job description

PIX4D is seeking a highly technical Customer Success Specialist to drive platform adoption, workflow engineering, and technical support functions across the US and Canada. You will be a key member of PIX4D's dynamic team supporting enterprise clients, public utilities, and engineering partners across North America.

As a Customer Success Specialist, you are the day-to-day domain partner for our clients. You will act as a "Success Architect," engaging with technical stakeholders during the pre-sales phase and guiding customers through complex implementation to ensure they successfully integrate drone mapping and photogrammetry into their core business workflows. This is a high-impact role leveraging your industry background to drive user value, long-term retention, and technical growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesProactive Adoption & Pre-Sales Engineering
  • Success Discovery: Partner with the Sales team during pre-sales and trial phases to map out clear technical workflows and success criteria for prospective infrastructure and utility clients.
  • Onboarding & Implementation Execution: Own the post-sale handoff by leading technical implementation, data integration, and specialized training sessions across the PIX4D ecosystem (PIX4Dmatic, PIX4Dcatch, PIX4Dcloud).
  • Workflow Consulting: Act as a hands-on technical advisor, helping engineering, utility, and construction teams transition from traditional/manual field data collection to sophisticated 2D/3D photogrammetry and GIS deliverables.
Retention & Account Growth
  • Commercial Support: Identify expansion, feature upgrade, and technical upsell opportunities within your portfolio, collaborating with Sales to secure them.
  • Value Realization: Collaborate with Sales to prepare and lead technical business reviews for key accounts and resellers, documenting and presenting the tangible time, cost, and safety savings achieved.
  • Active Health Management: Regularly monitor technical account health metrics (processing volume, data frequency, license utilization) and initiate proactive outreach to optimize workflows and mitigate risk before the renewal window.
Field Advocacy & Team Collaboration
  • The Voice of the User: Document and channel highly specific user feedback, edge-case bugs, and industry feature requests directly to the Product and Engineering teams.
  • Training & Community: Deliver advanced technical webinars, "office hours," and in-person training events in collaboration with the Training & Education team.

For Colorado-based hires: Compensation Range: Base range is $71K to $86K with additional quarterly bonuses based on performance, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Requirements

  • Civil Infrastructure & Utilities Background: Direct professional background or strong working knowledge of decentralized environments such as Utilities (Line Inspections), Civil Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, or Construction Management.
  • Technical Domain Expertise: Hands-on experience working with geospatial data, GIS workflows, UAVs, photogrammetry, or remote sensing.
  • Client-Facing or Advisory Competency: 2+ years of experience in a client-facing role (such as Technical Support, Customer Success, Account Management, or Application Engineering) where you successfully managed client outcomes.  Sales or CS experience is an asset, but technical credibility in the field is paramount.
  • Bias for Action: A proactive, problem-solving mindset-you don't wait for a support ticket; you actively reach out to clients to optimize their data processing and workflows.
  • Communication & Adaptability: Exceptional ability to explain complex technical concepts (like coordinate systems, point clouds, or mesh accuracy) to both field-level operators and corporate GIS directors.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel 20-30% for client site visits, industry trade shows, and regional roadshows

Bonus Points
  • Power-user experience with the PIX4D ecosystem (PIX4Dfields, PIX4Dmatic, PIX4Dcatch, PIX4Dcloud, etc.).
  • Proven success driving "digital transformation" by moving legacy teams into modern, digital workflows.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish is an advantage for the Americas territory (but not required)
  • Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Voluntary Critical Illness & Accident Coverage Benefit Options Available
  • Paid Vacation and Sick Time
  • 11 Paid Holidays
  • 401k plan
  • Attractive salary and an incentivized OTE package for the right candidate.
  • Hybrid work opportunity (2 days a week in our Greenwood Village office)
  • Exciting work with cutting-edge technology.
  • Flexible working hours
  • Development opportunities to boost your career
  • Opportunity to work in a fast-growing international company, engaging in projects that involve other team members around the world
