Job description

Summary:

This role will play a critical role in capturing high-quality photo and video content that brings the Cosm experience to life. This is an on-site role based in Detroit, with a primary focus on video and still production. This role is 80–90% focused on shooting, with limited editing responsibilities. Post-production will largely be supported by in-house teams based in Los Angeles, allowing this role to prioritize capturing best-in-class footage and stills in the field. You will act as the on-the-ground creative lead for Detroit, owning content capture across events, evergreen brand moments, and partner activations. This requires a strong eye for storytelling, the ability to operate independently, and a deep understanding of how to capture content optimized for both B2B and B2C marketing needs.

Temporary Position: This is a six-month temporary assignment supporting Cosm. The selected individual will be employed and paid by a third-party staffing partner.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary shooter for the Detroit market, responsible for documenting the full Cosm experience across live events, venue moments, and branded content opportunities.
  • Capture high-quality video and photography with an emphasis on immersive, experience-first storytelling that reflects the scale and energy of Cosm.
  • Operate with a run-and-gun, high-volume content mindset to ensure a steady pipeline of usable marketing assets.
  • Collaborate remotely with LA-based editors and marketing teams to ensure proper coverage, shot execution, and asset delivery for post-production.
  • Identify and proactively capture evergreen content opportunities, including venue, crowd, talent, and environmental storytelling.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of storytelling, with the ability to direct commercial-style content on set—shaping narrative, performance, and visual tone. Capture across formats including documentary-style content, trending social content, interviews, and photography. Demonstrate expertise in framing, lighting, and composition, while executing content optimized for digital platforms.
  • Support light and editing needs when required, but with the expectation that the majority of post-production is handled in-house.
  • Help define and evolve the Atlanta shooter playbook, including best practices, shot approaches, and content standards as the market grows.

Experience:

  • Start-up DNA: Willing to roll up sleeves, do foundational work, and test innovative approaches. Able to prioritize deftly. Comfortable with setting their direction and adjusting to the landscape
  • 5+ years of experience as a photo and video content producer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Photography, Fine Arts, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Understanding of high-resolution video workflows and photography principles
  • High attention to design detail, with an interest in storytelling and customer journey
  • Solid communication skills and the ability to work within a remote team environment
  • Be able to present ideas and shot lists
  • A strong desire to develop as a videographer and photographer and a willingness to take on additional responsibilities
  • Experience with project management tools (Notion is a plus)
