Job description

STATUS: Part-Time

REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Marketing and Communications

Position Description:
The College for Creative Studies is hiring a part-time Digital Content Coordinator to support senior specialists (Video, Web, Social, and PR) by helping manage the "last mile" of the content pipeline. This role will assist with the daily execution, formatting, and post-production of multimedia content.
 
To ensure maximum efficiency within a 20-hour work week, workflow priorities are centralized and managed exclusively by the Associate Director.
 
Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions 

Photo & Video Support:
  • Serve as production assistant and second-unit support on high-end video shoots, assisting with field gear and audio as needed.
  • Capture real-time event photography and high-quality, social-first vertical video.
  • Provide quick-turnaround coverage for sponsored project presentations, student gallery openings, alumni features, and other projects as needed.
Writing & Content Editing:
  • Aid in interviewing students, faculty, and alumni as needed.
  • Draft engaging web copy, alumni features, and short stories.
  • Write compelling social media captions tailored to various platform audiences. 
  • Assist in drafting and formatting digital and printed marketing materials as needed.

Post Production & CMS Management:
  • Handle foundational post-production tasks, including light video editing for Reels/TikTok, basic photo editing in Adobe Creative Suite, and adding accurate captions/subtitles.
  • Edit long-form marketing assets into multi-platform pieces, turning single video productions into functional web stories, social clips, promotional copy, etc.
  • Aid in uploading and formatting content into the website CMS.
Other Duties:
  • Organize and manage marketing assets.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure materials are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Perform other digital engagement and production support duties as assigned.
  
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Strong narrative skills, with a portfolio demonstrating strong copywriting.
  • Proficiency with professional camera operations and proven experience in content creation for social media platforms, including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Foundational proficiency in photo/video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently with a self-starter attitude, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to cover occasional weekend and evening events.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with a team
 
Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with higher education or art and design studio environments.
Basic experience navigating website Content Management Systems (CMS) and project management tools like Asana is appreciated, but not required. 
A background in art and design is appreciated, but not required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:  This job operates in a professional office and college campus environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a stationary position, use a computer and other office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and virtually.  Frequent interaction with others, including staff, faculty, students and third parties is required.  The employee may occasionally be required to move files or other objects weighing up to 25 pounds, including from low and high places.  The ability to move around within the office and between buildings on campus, attend off-site meetings and events, and travel between Ford Campus site to Taubman Center site are required.  CCS will make reasonable accommodations that will allow individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
