Job Summary
The Green Design Lab (GDL) is Solar One's educational department. The education program administrator will play a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for our education programs (Environmental Education Center, Career & Technical Education, and STEM Education). This position supports program delivery by managing and improving administrative systems, coordinating logistics, handling invoicing and purchasing, and maintaining records. This position will work onsite at our Solar One Environmental Education Center in Manhattan. A driver's license is required.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the purchasing of programmatic expenses, tracking, and inputting receipts into expense management software
  • Inventory supplies such as teacher toolkits, teaching materials, worksheets, etc
  • Organizing documents for invoicing program partners
  • Assisting with data management related to programmatic metrics
  • Assisting with analyzing and visualizing post-program survey data
  • Renting a Zipcar or a U-Haul to deliver program supplies to schools, as needed.
  • Collaborate with Solar One operations, fiscal, and development to support Solar One and ensure the Green Design Lab is complying with procedures, invoicing, purchasing, and providing records as requested.
  • Respond to basic inquiries from teachers, schools, and community partners.
  • Organizing photo drives, ensuring media release forms for participants.
  • Collecting paperwork for summer camp programming

Qualifications and Skills
Successful candidates for this role should be able to demonstrate the following:
  • 2+ years of experience in an administrative, coordination, or operations-based role.
  • Associate's degree or higher education preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service skills, comfortable interacting with educators, families, and students.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Suite, including Calendar, Docs, Spreadsheet, and Drive.
  • Maturity and ability to work independently.
  • NYS driver's license required.

Pay and Benefits
Pay starts at $59,000- $62,000 per year.
