We are seeking an Underground Missile Groundhand to join our team in Aurora, CO and performing work throughout the Denver metro area. In this role you will assist with underground missile boring operations and daily field activities while helping ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and customer standards. The ideal candidate has underground construction experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

The Role
  • Assist the Underground Missile Foreman with daily construction activities
  • Support underground missile boring operations, including job setup, equipment preparation, boring, and site cleanup
  • Prepare job sites by organizing tools, materials, equipment, and work areas
  • Load, unload, transport, and secure construction materials and equipment
  • Perform hand digging, potholing, trenching, conduit placement, and restoration as needed
  • Assist with underground telecommunications installations
  • Support the operation and maintenance of underground construction equipment
  • Maintain awareness and communicate effectively around operating equipment and active work areas
  • Follow Foreman direction to complete work safely and efficiently
  • Complete daily documentation and maintain job site organization
  • Assist with equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and care of company tools and equipment
  • Assist with traffic control, job site protection, and public safety as needed
  • Report hazards, changing site conditions, and safety concerns to the Foreman
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of underground construction experience required
  • Experience with underground telecommunications, utility construction, excavation, conduit installation, or boring operations preferred
  • Ability to safely operate or assist with underground construction equipment
  • Knowledge of underground construction practices and job site safety
  • Ability to read and understand basic construction plans, work orders, and utility markings
  • Willingness to travel, work flexible schedules, and participate in evening and weekend on-call rotations as needed
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain safely
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to follow direction, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to climb poles using climbing equipment and work in confined spaces or at elevated heights while bending, reaching, twisting, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work
  • Manual dexterity to work with small components and wires
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver's license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
