Job description

T&M Associates is seeking a motivated Construction Inspector 2 to join Construction Management practice of the Building and Facilities team in Columbus, OH. In this role, you will examine the construction of roadways, buildings, sewer and water treatment systems, pipelines, bridges, dams, and various other structures. Under supervision of a Construction Project Manager, you will observe and document construction progress, quality, and compliance with contract plans and specifications, shop drawings, and applicable codes and permits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction practices and quality standards across a range of construction types.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform onsite field inspections to monitor contractor work, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and standards under the supervision of a Construction Project Manager.
  • Maintain accurate daily inspection reports and photo documentation, and support project closeout and payment verification
  • Identify, document, and assist in resolving construction issues, escalating as needed to maintain project quality and schedule

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of construction experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and continue learning within the construction management field
  • NICET Levels I or II certifications preferred
  • Experience with public works, roadway, utility, grading, and drainage projects
  • Knowledge of zoning, subdivision, and land development regulations is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation
