Unit Manager will conduct the phone interview Unit: North Tower 5 (5N) Med-Surg/Telemetry - SMMC # Beds: 18 Ratios: 1:4/1:5 Required Certifications: BLS, WA or Compact License Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Medical-surgical overflow patients (CHF, DM, UTI, non critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, isolation, end-of-life/palliative, awaiting placement, post-op from general surgery) Experience or 'must have' skills: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in acute care Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes, limited to Heparin gtt and Cardizem gtt (up to 10mg/hr) Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin and Cardizem Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Yes Do RN's read strips? Yes (pending approval of position) and Yes Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge RN Are there Nurse Aides on this unit?
