Job description

Administrative Services Clerk

This is an entry level position in the Siletz Tribal Health Department. This position assists the Business Office staff with daily operations. Clerk will oversee all vendor and patient files. The Clerk will perform clerical duties as assigned. This position may be assigned special projects within the incumbent's level of knowledge.

Duties:

  • Perform basic office duties including, faxing, photocopying, filing, and answering phone.
  • Assist with all aspects of payment collection procedures within the SCHC.
  • Process the Business Offices incoming mail.
  • Assist in the processing, sending and tracking of the Business Office outgoing mail and correspondences.
  • Scan, organize and maintain department patient and vendor files.
  • Enter and maintain accurate PRC denials in system.
  • Provide back up coverage for processing the SCHC's mail.
  • Will provide backup coverage for other departments within SCHC based on current skills/training and need.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED and 6-months of clerical experience โ€“ OR - satisfactory completion of a work experience placement with a clerical emphasis.

Knowledge of:

  • Word processing, preferred.
  • Rules and regulations for Purchased/Referred Care, preferred.

Ability to:

  • Type, file, and use a calculator.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Work and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and health agencies.
  • Multitask.
