Job Description
Provides pediatric technical expertise in specimen collection/processing and clerical support for test order management and report distribution. Provides excellent customer service to internal/external customers while demonstrating a positive and professional image at all times. Actively promotes a lean work culture by performing team leader duties to ensure consistent use of lean principles and processes, including continually seeking work process improvements. Assists leadership team with administrative and technical support as required. Recognizes necessity of taking ownership of own motivation, morale, performance, and professional development. Strives for behavior consistent with being committed to the lab's and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's mission, goals, and values.
Experience
  • Five years of experience in pediatric phlebotomy

Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of employment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
  • Experience as a preceptor
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS)

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Certification Summary
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology phlebotomy registration or eligible

  • Maintains and monitors equipment, supplies, and work area.
  • Ensures safe environment which is functional as well as professional in appearance and safe for patients, the public, and staff.
  • Actively promotes a lean culture by performing duties to promote an understanding and consistent use of lean principals and processes.
  • Performs duties, makes decisions, takes actions, and continually strives to improve work processes using an awareness of how work performed is valued by the customer.
  • Performs other duties as required by the department.
