A Phishing Analyst is a cybersecurity professional who detects, analyzes, and mitigates phishing threats. Using various security tools, they assess risks, report findings, and help implement protective measures. Their role is critical in preventing cybercriminals from stealing sensitive data or compromising systems. Phishing Analysts also educate employees and organizations on recognizing and avoiding phishing attempts.
As a Phishing Analyst, your daily tasks often include monitoring email traffic for suspicious activity, analyzing reported phishing attempts, and investigating potential security incidents. You will assess and escalate threats, collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams, and help implement or update preventative measures. Additionally, you may assist in employee training programs to raise awareness and reduce susceptibility to phishing attacks. This role involves both hands-on technical work and clear communication with colleagues across the organization.
