Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Travel RN – Neuro PCU / StepdownPosition Overview

This position provides nursing care to Neuro Stepdown/Progressive Care patients in a collaborative environment. The RN must have strong PCU/Stepdown experience and previous Neuro experience. Travelers may float to like units and will float to Med-Surg when needed.

Requirements
  • 2 years of PCU/Stepdown experience required
  • Previous Neuro experience required
  • Active Indiana or Compact RN license
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • NIHSS required — may be obtained before start
  • Drip titration experience preferred
  • Candidates without drip-titration experience may be floated to Med-Surg/Telemetry
Unit Details
  • Patient Ratio: 3–4:1 on Progressive Care; 4–5:1 on Med-Surg
  • PCU travelers may float to Med-Surg and will be maintained at a 1:3 ratio when floated
  • RN will never work alone
  • Three weekend shifts required during each 4-week schedule
  • Floating to like units is required
  • EMR: Epic
  • Equipment: Pyxis, Philips defibrillators, Philips bedside monitors
  • Scrubs: Caribbean Blue
Orientation & Training
  • Jumpstart program required
  • Epic training required
  • 1–2 days of unit-specific orientation
Travel & Facility Policies
  • Local travelers within 50 miles are accepted at a 12% reduced rate
  • Client may call off/cancel up to 24 hours per 13-week assignment
  • 8 hours of orientation are non-billable
  • Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
  • Travelers returning within 12 months of their last worked date are not eligible for non-billable orientation.
