Software Test Automation Engineer - Medical Device (Bedford, MA)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Test Automation Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will contribute to ensuring the safety and reliability of our medical device software through rigorous testing and documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow within the medical device industry, gaining valuable experience in a regulated environment. You will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that meets stringent regulatory requirements.

Your role:

  • Participate in all aspects of software test automation for software running on a medical device:

    • Requirements management

    • Automated test development and execution using Python and Squish.

    • Test protocol development and execution

    • Test report creation

    • Adhere to all applicable regulatory requirements and company quality standards

  • Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other team members to ensure effective communication and problem-solving

You're the right fit if:

  • You have 3+ years of experience in a medical device, scientific instrument or similar product testing. You use this experience to develop, debug and execute test plans, identify issues, and support reliable product performance.

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You bring the foundational technical training required to work effectively in a structured test environment.

  • You have a solid understanding of core automated software testing concepts and methodologies. You apply these principles when evaluating components, systems, or software behavior.

  • You have demonstrated experience writing test scripts using Python and have experience in automated testing with Squish or comparable test automation tools.

  • You learn quickly and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes. You use this ability to contribute effectively to a dynamic development environment with strong communication skills and a result-oriented approach.

  • You are familiar with or eager to learn how to leverage AI to enhance your productivity.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

How we work together:

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities 5 days per week. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

Philips Transparency Details:

The pay range for this position in MA is $82,000 to $131,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
