Position Summary

Senior Oracle Cloud Financial Systems Specialist will play a critical role in implementing, optimizing, and managing Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules (AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Budgeting) on a day‑to‑day basis. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Financial and Research Systems, this hybrid role blends hands‑on functional and technical management of Oracle Cloud financial modules. Responsibilities include collaborating with finance stakeholders, system administrators, and technology partners to enhance business processes, improve system stability, and align with institutional mandates.

Workplace Location

This position is hybrid, requiring in‑office presence 2‑3 days per month and mandatory attendance at certain meetings and events. The employee is responsible for personal travel expenses. Work arrangements may be subject to change.

Hiring Range

$122,496 - $155,000 annually (exempt, salaried).

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
    • In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience may substitute if earned on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Four or more years of related experience (Oracle Cloud ERP administration, financial module management, or related enterprise applications).
  • In lieu of experience, additional related education may substitute if earned on an equivalent year‑for‑year basis.

Essential Functions
  • Provide functional and technical expertise and day‑to‑day support for Oracle Cloud ERP financial modules.
  • Document system configurations, customizations, and processes to ensure knowledge continuity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in collaboration with internal IT teams and Oracle support or consultants.
  • Participate in system optimization initiatives, including configuration reviews, data quality assessments, and process improvements.
  • Support implementation projects, system upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Serve as a technical resource to finance teams on Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities and best practices.
  • Conduct user training and support on system functionality, process changes, and new features.
  • Assist with ad hoc analyses and reporting support for finance leadership as needed.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and controls; recommend improvements in line with university policies.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance Systems and Reporting, the Controller’s office, Rice Office of Technology Systems & Services, and external partners on financial system initiatives.
