The University of Missouri invites applications for a tenure-trackfaculty position in nutrition sciences at Assistant or AssociateProfessor levels.

The Division of Food, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences (FNES) ispart of two colleges, i.e., the College of Agriculture, Food andNatural Resources, and the School of Medicine. FNES hasstate-of-the-art research facilities including the MU NutritionalCenter for Health (MUNCH) consisting of a research metabolickitchen and dining facility; a teaching kitchen; and observationalbehavior lab. Adjacent to MUNCH, a 2,250 sq. ft. clinical testingresearch facility (MU-Physical Activity and Wellness Center,MU-PAW) that supports clinical studies including IV placement,inhouse repeated blood sampling, measurements of body composition,resting and exercise energy metabolism, dietary counseling,ingestive behavior assessments, cognitive function, andcardiovascular function assessments. Additional facilities,centers, and cores routinely utilized by FNES researchers includethe Brain Imaging Center, where comprehensive full body imagingstudies are being performed, the Clinical & TranslationalScience Units located at the University Hospital, the MetagenomicsCenter for microbiome analyses, the Genomics Technology Core andMetabolomics Center for omics analyses, and the Bioinformatics andAnalytics Core and High-Performance Computing cluster for advancedcomputational work. New to our campus is a state-of-the-arttranslational precision medicine center, NextGen , a researchcomplex engineered to speed the pace at which laboratory andclinical advances become transformational products and services.The campus has 2143 faculty members, 24,449 undergraduate studentsand 7,094 graduate/professional students. In 2025, MU had $553million in research-related expenditures.

The Division of FNES fosters a highly collaborative andinterdisciplinary research environment. We are seekinginvestigators whose research programs leverage existing campusstrengths and facilities while building new synergies across FNESand the broader university community. Areas of particular interestinclude, but are not limited to, functional foods, novel orbioactive compounds, precision nutrition, and othernutrition-related approaches that advance human health.

FNES has established research strengths in metabolic health anddisease, including obesity, MASLD, type 2 diabetes, cardiovasculardiseases, and cancer. Successful candidates will establish theirown independent lines of research with the opportunity tocontribute to and expand these areas through innovative,translational, and team - based research. Faculty are expected tocontribute to the educational mission including undergraduate andgraduate (e.g., MS, RD, PhD) education. Information on FNES can befound here: https://fnes.missouri.edu/ .

Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Nutritional Sciences or aclosely related discipline by the time of appointment.

Candidates will be evaluated on:

• Related postdoctoral research experience
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist preferred but nostrequired
• Those who perform human clinical, behavioral nutritioninterventions and/or translational research are strongly encouragedto apply
