Job description
The University of Missouri invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in nutrition sciences at Assistant or Associate Professor levels.
The Division of Food, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences (FNES) is part of two colleges, i.e., the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, and the School of Medicine. FNES has state-of-the-art research facilities including the MU Nutritional Center for Health (MUNCH) consisting of a research metabolic kitchen and dining facility; a teaching kitchen; and observational behavior lab. Adjacent to MUNCH, a 2,250 sq. ft. clinical testing research facility (MU-Physical Activity and Wellness Center, MU-PAW) that supports clinical studies including IV placement, inhouse repeated blood sampling, measurements of body composition, resting and exercise energy metabolism, dietary counseling, ingestive behavior assessments, cognitive function, and cardiovascular function assessments. Additional facilities, centers, and cores routinely utilized by FNES researchers include the Brain Imaging Center, where comprehensive full body imaging studies are being performed, the Clinical & Translational Science Units located at the University Hospital, the Metagenomics Center for microbiome analyses, the Genomics Technology Core and Metabolomics Center for omics analyses, and the Bioinformatics and Analytics Core and High-Performance Computing cluster for advanced computational work. New to our campus is a state-of-the-art translational precision medicine center, NextGen , a research complex engineered to speed the pace at which laboratory and clinical advances become transformational products and services. The campus has 2143 faculty members, 24,449 undergraduate students and 7,094 graduate/professional students. In 2025, MU had $553 million in research-related expenditures.
