Tulane University - Assistant Professor (Tenure-track) in History and Political Economy

Position Description
We seek to hire an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in History and Political Economy. Applications are welcome from all geographic areas, including those whose work crosses national boundaries.

The Department of History has a growing research strength in economic history, to which the successful candidate will contribute. The Murphy Institute houses Tulaneโ€™s undergraduate program in Political Economy and its various centers support a variety of research activities, including an internationally renowned faculty fellowship program and a vibrant series of lectures, seminars, and conferences.

The teaching load is 2-2, equally split between the Department of History and the Murphy Institute. The prospective candidate will contribute to the History Departmentโ€™s undergraduate and graduate programs. The candidate should also be able to offer the coursePECN 3020, Political Economy: A Historical Overview and an advanced seminar for majors in political economy in the candidateโ€™s area of expertise for the Murphy Institute. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to research and teaching in both History and Political Economy.
