Texas Tech University - Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Medieval European History

The Department of History in the College of Arts & Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor inmedieval European history, to begin September 1, 2027.The Department welcomes applicants working in any area of geographical or chronological specialization but is especially interested in candidates with research expertise in the early or central Middle Ages whose work situates medieval Europe within broader geographical contexts. Teaching responsibilities will include graduate and undergraduate courses in medieval history, as well as introductory surveys.

As a faculty member in the Department of History, you will be expected to:

  • contribute to the teaching mission of the department
  • develop a record of peer-reviewed research and scholarly engagement
  • pursue research funding as opportunities allow
  • provide service to the department, college and university

Required Qualifications:

  • A completed PhD in Medieval History or a closely related field, obtained by September 1, 2027.
  • Established track-record of peer-reviewed research in the field of Medieval History.
  • A strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching
