Job description

Job Purpose:
- The Pharmacy Technician at Hugo’s Family Pharmacy is responsible for supporting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, processing prescriptions and insurance claims, managing inventory, maintaining accurate records, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role ensures compliance with Minnesota pharmacy laws and supports pharmacy operations and clerical tasks in a safe and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process prescriptions and insurance claims, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with regulations.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and assisting with medication-related questions.
- Ensure compliance with Minnesota pharmacy laws and regulations, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Support pharmacy operations by performing clerical tasks and assisting with the management of pharmacy systems.
- Operate pharmacy management software and point-of-sale systems efficiently.
- Handle insurance claims, prior authorizations, and co-pay collections as needed.
- Work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, adhering to all safety and operational protocols.
