Summary
Responsible for overseeing safe and timely delivery of medications and supplies to patients inside and outside of the hospitals. Prepares medication deliveries in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulations. Connects patients and providers to pharmacists and other clinical staff to answer questions or address concerns. Informs patients of information regarding insurance processing and financial responsibility. Reviews patient rights and responsibilities with patient or caregiver. Explains safe handling of equipment. Instructs patients on processes related to ongoing care and communication with pharmacy. Promotes pharmacy services to patients. May be required assist in day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.
Job Duties

  • Responsible for accurately transporting or delivering patient specific medications and/or supplies or equipment to the patient's destination.
  • Responsible for proper handling and storage of medication during medication transport to ensure drug integrity.
  • Ensures the correct patient specific medication is delivered to the correct patient per company policies and procedures.
  • Reviews safe handling of medication or equipment with patient, if necessary
  • Communicates information to patient regarding pharmacy procedures and connects patient to appropriate clinical resources, as necessary.
  • Communicates information related to insurance, financial responsibility, patient rights and responsibilities and safe handling of equipment, including return processes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year in a customer service related position
  • Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks and follow-up in a timely manner
  • Problem solving, interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years in a customer service related position or
  • 1 year in a pharmacy or healthcare related position
  • CPhT - Certified Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
