The role requires excellent customer service skills to speak with a wide variety of customers who fill prescriptions at the pharmacy. They may also answer phone calls, organize retail displays, and work the cash register for retail purchases.

Adapting to frequent changes in medication stock or pharmacy procedures also requires flexibility and a proactive attitude.
