Common Search & ComparisonYesYes

Remote Pharmacy involves licensed pharmacists providing medication management and consultation remotely, while Remote Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacists by preparing prescriptions and managing administrative tasks. Both roles are integral to telepharmacy services, but they differ in required credentials and responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Pharmacist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Pharmacist, you need a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active pharmacist licensure, and a strong foundation in clinical pharmacology and medication therapy management. Familiarity with telepharmacy platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and pharmacy management systems is typically required. Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are vital soft skills in this role. These skills and qualifications ensure safe, effective medication management and seamless patient care in a virtual environment.

What is a Remote Pharmacy?

A remote pharmacy is a pharmacy service that operates online or through telepharmacy, allowing patients to consult with pharmacists, order prescriptions, and receive medication without visiting a physical location. Remote pharmacies leverage technology to provide pharmaceutical care, medication management, and patient counseling from a distance. These services are especially helpful for individuals in rural or underserved areas, or for those seeking convenience and privacy. Remote pharmacies must comply with the same legal and safety standards as traditional pharmacies to ensure quality care.

How does working in a remote pharmacy role differ from a traditional in-person pharmacy setting?

In a remote pharmacy role, you'll primarily use digital tools to verify prescriptions, counsel patients, and collaborate with healthcare providers, rather than interacting face-to-face. Communication is often through secure messaging, video calls, or phone, requiring strong technical skills and adaptability. While you may face challenges such as managing multiple digital platforms and ensuring patient privacy, you'll also benefit from flexible work arrangements and opportunities to support patients across a wider geographic area. Teamwork remains important, as you'll regularly coordinate with other pharmacists, technicians, and healthcare professionals remotely.

Job description

About Southend Pharmacy

Southend Pharmacy is a modern 503A compounding pharmacy built on clinical precision, operational clarity, and a human-first approach. Licensed in 35+ states and focused on longevity-aligned therapeutics, we support providers and their patients with precision in compounding and transparent processes. Southend Pharmacy operates at the intersection of innovation, ambition, and clinical excellence—blending precision, clarity, and compassionate support to help providers deliver patient-centered, clinically guided care across every step of the treatment journey.

About the Role

We're looking for an independent, field-based sales representative to grow Southend Pharmacy's provider network across the U.S. This is a commission-only, part-time W2 position designed for experienced healthcare sales professionals who already have established provider relationships and are looking to add a high-value, clinically differentiated product line to their existing work. You'll be representing our longevity-focused compounding portfolio directly to medspas, longevity clinics, wellness practices, and independent providers.

Location: Remote — candidates based in Minneapolis MN, Portland OR, Philadelphia PA, or Atlanta GA are strongly encouraged to apply. However, we are open to qualified candidates located anywhere in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote Southend Pharmacy's longevity medication portfolio to providers through direct, face-to-face outreach
  • Build and maintain relationships with medspas, longevity clinics, wellness practices, and other relevant provider accounts
  • Drive new account adoption and grow volume within your existing network
  • Stay current on market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory requirements to inform sales strategy and maintain compliance
  • Participate fully in onboarding training and ongoing product education — this is a firm requirement of the role

What We Require

  • Proven track record in healthcare sales — experience in pharma, medical devices, GLP-1s, hormone replacement therapy, or compounding is highly valued
  • Established provider relationships in your market
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time and territory
  • Willingness to dedicate a minimum of 15–20 hours per week to this role
  • Commitment to completing and maintaining Southend's training program
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship

What We Offer

  • 18% gross profit commission — uncapped, no tiers, no minimums
  • Flexibility to work in-field on your own schedule
  • Marketing assets and dedicated sales support to maximize your effectiveness
  • A growing formulary — HRT and additional longevity therapeutics coming later this year
  • Opportunity to expand your existing practice with a clinically differentiated, in-demand product line

Equal Opportunity Employer Statement

Southend Pharmacy does not provide employment visa sponsorship now or in the future. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Southend Pharmacy is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer where we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are committed to cultivating a culture where all team members feel valued & respected. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetic information, disability, age, veteran status, or any other characteristics protected by applicable law.
