What is the difference between Pharmacogenomics Job vs Genetic Counselor?
| Aspect | Pharmacogenomics Job | Genetic Counselor |
|---|---|---|
| Required Credentials | Bachelor's or Master's in genetics, molecular biology, or related field; certifications vary | Master's in Genetic Counseling; certification (ABGC) |

Pharmacogenomics jobs focus on studying how genes affect drug responses, often within research or pharmaceutical environments. Genetic counselors primarily work directly with patients to interpret genetic tests and provide counseling. While both roles require genetics knowledge, pharmacogenomics jobs are more research and industry-oriented, whereas genetic counseling is patient-centered healthcare.
