Director of IT

Location: Coppell, TX

Schedule: Monday–Friday | Fully Onsite

Compensation: $160,000–$200,000 base + potential 10% bonus

Our client is a third-party logistics organization that supports manufacturers, hospitals, government agencies, and other organizations with the storage and distribution of medical supplies, devices, and pharmaceutical products.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of IT with strong hands-on experience in Tecsys and/or 3PL/WMS environments to lead technology operations and provide direct people leadership.

This is a working leadership role — ideal for someone who enjoys staying close to the technology while also managing and developing a team. The Director will help drive day-to-day IT operations, support evolving systems and integrations, and provide greater visibility across business applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 3–4 direct reports.
  • Provide hands-on leadership across IT operations and business applications.
  • Support and optimize WMS, order management, warehouse workflows, and EDI integrations.
  • Help drive systems and integration initiatives across the organization.
  • Provide technical guidance while remaining involved in day-to-day operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and overall IT effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technology solutions.
  • Support a regulated pharmaceutical/logistics environment.
  • Travel to company locations as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on Tecsys experience in a 3PL or logistics environment, including implementation, support, or administration.
  • OR 5–8 years of experience with 3PL/WMS systems in a comparable environment.
  • Experience with WMS, TMS, DMS, or similar logistics technology platforms.
  • Previous people management/leadership experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, warehouse operations, order management, and EDI touchpoints.
  • Ability to operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on technology professional.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fully onsite environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulated pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
  • Experience working across multiple business applications.
  • Experience leading systems integration or technology transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with Tecsys is strongly preferred.
