Sacred Circle Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacist PRN

Job Summary

General Summary of Duties: Ensures that pharmacy operates as established and according to federal/state/local laws. Ensures that physician’s orders for pharmaceuticals to patients are prepared and administered appropriately.

To Be Determined on an as-needed basis with the availability of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work may be required depending on position requirements.

The successful candidate:

  • Prepares prescriptions by reviewing and verifying physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.

  • Dispenses medications by packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals.
  • Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration; maintain records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs form the pharmacy inventory.
  • Oversees work of pharmacy technicians and pharmacist in training (interns).
  • Keeps records and other administrative tasks.
  • Instructs patients on how and when to take a prescribed medicine and informs them about potential side effects they may experience from taking the medication(s).
  • Keeps accurate patient records of history and activities regarding all medications.
  • Keeps pharmacy areas and equipment clean, neat, and well-organized.
  • Keeps abreast of advancements in medicine.
  • Complies with all applicable state/federal laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Ensures all medication is stored safely and per manufacturers recommended guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate counts of all pharmaceuticals and medications. Orders and maintains proper inventory of pharmaceuticals and medications.
  • Ensures any patient complaints are handled appropriately.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to all Sacred Circle Health Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values Statements.

Minimum Requirements:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree
  • Graduate of a pharmacy school accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum one (1) year as a pharmacist.
