About the position

The GEA Group is one of the largest system providers globally for food, pharma and energy processes with about EUR 5.5 billion revenue in 2025 with its headquarters in Duesseldorf-Germany.GEA Pharma Systems is part of the GEA Group and is dedicated to innovation and thereby providing durable quality through its well established brands: Aeromatic-Fielder™ and Collette™ - batch and continuous granulation, drying, pelletizing and coating; Buck® & Buck Systems™ - containment interface and contained materials handling; Courtoy™ – tablet compression ( ORAL SOLID DOSAGE) “; GEA Pharma Systems’ activities include partnering with customers to develop new products and enhance clinical effectiveness; the supply of R&D-scale and stand-alone production equipment; and the installation of complete integrated production linesWhat are we looking for? A project engineer capable to engineer, design, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned multiple engineering projects. And whose responsibility lies in delivery and execution of project complying to quality, cost, schedule.

Your responsibilities and tasks
  • Evaluation of Bill of Material, Mech Drawings, technical specifications.
  • Prepare PFD's, P&ID's based on Process & Project engineering
  • Responsible for equipment layout on general arrangement drawings
  • Coordination with Belgium engineering team for technical queries.
  • Coordinating with supply chain and design engineering team for development of alternate supplier
  • Coordinating with Engineering team for the technical queries of specifications, Design etc.
  • Supplier evaluation, finalisation technically for the critical components as per specs.
  • Sound knowledge of SAP with respect to creation of project structure, budgeting, cost monitoring, raising requisition for components, issuance of material, etc
  • Supervision and coordination with workshop on the Fabrication, Assembly of machine periodically.
  • Monitoring the progress of machines in workshop as per project schedule.
  • Identify the probable risks of projects and mitigation plan for those risks.
  • Preparation of Project schedule, Design packages, review assembly protocols, FAT protocols, SAT protocols based on project scope of supply.
  • Support the onsite engineering team during installation and commissioning activities of machine.
  • Review and sign-off all drawing submittals to client and/or vendor
  • Conduct FAT to suppliers end & ensure timely delivery project material
  • Coordinate inspection and field erection of GEA Pharma equipment
  • Supervise mechanical checkout of equipment and coordinate overall startup activities including process and I&C support
  • Co-ordinate with commercial/QC/assembly/logistics team for dispatch of material
  • Contributes team effort by completing all tasks as may be assigned by the supervision.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-6 Years in project engineering experience with the machine manufacturing industry or plant maintenance
  • Desirable to have broad knowledge of Pharma product lines – Tablet compression machine is preferred
