Position Summary

The Partnerships for Families (PFF) Home Visitor/Unlicensed Therapist position will work under the supervision of the Associate Clinical Director as part of a Home Visiting program that consists of interventions designed to (1) prevent child maltreatment and increase child safety within the home, (2) facilitate the preservation of families at moderate to very high risk of child abuse and neglect, (3) develop and strengthen the community safety net, and (4) develop and strengthen parental protective factors.


The Partnerships for Families (PFF) Home Visitor/Unlicensed Therapist is a grant funded position.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts home visits as a member of the Partnership for Families program for families with children ages 0 to 5
  • Completes intakes and psychosocial assessments
  • Provide individual counseling and therapy using evidence-based interventions under the supervision of a Licensed Supervisor
  • Facilitate educational group sessions such as parenting classes and support groups
  • Provide referrals and linkages
  • Maintain client charts/complete documentation
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed/required
  • Develop treatment plans
  • Partner with Case Coordinator to obtain resources and referrals for the client to sustain the client's involvement in center programs/treatment
  • Maintain aftercare follow-up and support/assistance to clients completing center programs/treatment
  • Partner in case planning with other center clinicians, consulting specialists, and representatives from schools, DCFS, and other jurisdictions as required or a needed
  • Participate in Outpatient Staff meetings, Clinical Case Conferences, and other meetings as appropriate or assigned
  • Able to submit all completed paperwork to supervisor within 24 hours of seeing clients
  • Maintain client charts in a responsible manner, and meet all paperwork deadlines as required by DCFS, DMH and agency policy (e.g. complete case notes and discharge notes on a timely basis, etc.)
  • Arrange work schedule to benefit the center program and clients with the approval of Clinical Supervisor/Program Director
  • Comply with agency guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Keep Associate Director and executive leadership well-informed regarding activities, pending issues, and potential problems
  • You may perform all elements of this position or identified components, other duties as assigned or required for the purpose of the position or for organizational efficiency and effective client service.
  • Valid CA driver's license and auto insurance coverage will be required to drive a personal vehicle for company business.
  • Must be able and willing to reliably travel up to between 25-40% to travel in the field, and between our Los Angeles, Cerritos, and Santa Ana offices, with occasional travel to Palmdale to meet with participants, as required.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work, Psychology or Marriage & Family Counseling

Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • Experience working with American Indian and Alaska Native communities strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations, community groups, and performance-based government contracts.
  • Knowledge of Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (Public Law 93-638)
  • Experience with PFF, First 5 LA programs, or DCFS-related services is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working directly with children & families; home visiting experience
  • Bilingual Spanish

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and personnel information adhering to HIPPA, professional codes of conduct, State of CA regulations, Privacy Act, and UAII policies and procedures
  • This position has access to sensitive information, and a breach in confidentiality will be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including immediate termination
  • Available to work evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Willingness to learn new skills and participate in training sessions relevant to the position
