Job description

Forklift Drivers

Forklift Drivers must have experience driving Stand Up Forklifts and are responsible for loading and unloading shipments, inventory control, picking and staging orders, and up keep. Ensure safety while operating vehicles inside and outside of plant and report any deviations, hazards, or issues to the appropriate department, whether its quality or production related.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently move, sort, handle, stack, stage, load and unload palletized freight using a forklift.
  • On a daily basis, perform inspections of all equipment before use (forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, etc.).
  • May be required to open and close used and unused barrels & totes.
  • Inventory control paperwork completed for each load.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately.
  • Pick and stage orders.
  • Identify, separate and unload orders in correct sequence.
  • Communicate with fellow employees, PFI transfer driver and others in a professional manner.
  • Recognize problems with product and report to the Production Supervisor.
  • Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean and organized fashion.
  • Report any equipment or facilities issues.
  • Assist in maintaining the security and safety of the area. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Forklift driving experience preferred.
  • High level of honesty, integrity, energy, and personal accountability.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently preferred.
  • Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
  • Paperwork accuracy is a must.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Consistently and reliably at work and on time.
