Job description

Registered Veterinary Ultrasonographer

BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Carolina is looking to add an exceptional Registered Veterinary Ultrasonographer to our highly collaborative team. We are a group of multi-specialty and emergency hospitals with locations in Cary, Raleigh and Durham.

Pay: $30 - $43 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through leveling system.

As a Veterinary Ultrasonographer, you will:

  • Perform ultrasounds (image capture).
  • Perform cystocentesis and collect fine needle aspirates for cytology.
  • Safely restrain patients for procedures.
  • Place intravenous catheters in all peripheral veins.
  • Perform phlebotomy.
  • Proficiently perform digital radiographs.
  • Administer and monitor patients during anesthesia or while sedated.
  • Perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI procedures.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Education/Experience:

  • Must be a RVT or graduated from an AVMA accredited vet tech school.
  • A.S. Degree required. B.S preferred.
  • Veterinary Ultrasound certificate program or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography preferred (RVMS) or Certificate program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Graduate of Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation/or, accredited radiology program or equivalent. Certification by American Registry of Radiological Technologists or equivalent.
