Job description

If you enjoy problem-solving & working independently and want to build a long-term career where your work genuinely helps people, we'd love to meet you!

  • Pay: $21–$36 per hour, based on experience and certifications
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically around 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Route: Usually 4–16 stops per day (most technicians average around 12)
  • Vehicle: Take-home company vehicle provided for work use only
  • Training: Paid training, certifications, and continuing education provided
  • Additional Hours: Occasional overtime and Saturday work during peak season

Build a Career Solving Real Problems

Pest control is part skilled trade, part customer service, and part detective work. As a Pest Control Technician, you'll manage your own route, visit homes and businesses, identify what's causing pest problems, and help customers protect their health & property.

You don't need previous pest control experience to succeed here! We provide paid training, help you prepare for state certification exams, pay for your testing, and continue investing in your development throughout your career.

What You'll Do

You'll travel throughout your assigned service area, completing residential and commercial appointments. At each stop, you'll inspect the property, identify pest activity and contributing conditions, perform treatments, document your work, and educate customers on what to expect and on preventing future problems.

Most of your day is spent working independently, but you'll always have the support of your manager and local team whenever you need another perspective or run into a unique situation.

What You Should Know

This isn't a desk job. You'll work outdoors in hot and cold weather, spend a lot of time driving, climb ladders, go into crawlspaces, and occasionally deal with things that are simply unpleasant or gross. Summer is our busiest season, so overtime and occasional Saturdays are often just part of the job.

The first few months can be a steep learning curve as you learn different pests, treatment methods, equipment, regulations, and customer situations. By the end of their first season, most technicians are amazed by how much they've learned and the confidence they've built. The best moments come when you solve a problem that has been affecting someone's home, family, health, employees, or business and see the relief your efforts have provided.

Grow Your Career

As your experience, knowledge, and certifications grow, so do your opportunities. Technicians progress through our career levels, each with a higher pay ceiling:

  • Registered
  • Professional
  • Advanced
  • Senior
  • Elite

Once certified beyond being a registered applicator, you'll receive quarterly development reviews so you always know how you're performing, what you can improve, and what it takes to reach the next level.

Our top technician pay range of $32–$36 per hour is reserved for highly qualified technicians who hold several certifications, including the Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) credential, and meet the experience and KPI requirements for our highest technician level.

Qualified technicians may also move into roles such as Service Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, Residential Sales, Commercial Sales, and other operational or leadership positions.

You'll Probably Enjoy This Job If You...

  • Like solving puzzles and figuring out why problems happen
  • Enjoy learning new skills and becoming an expert in your field
  • Take ownership of your work and follow through
  • Prefer staying active instead of sitting behind a desk
  • Enjoy helping people and creating great customer experiences
  • Can work independently while managing your own schedule

Benefits & Support

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance (effective the first of the month after your start date)
  • Dental and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match up to 4%
  • Paid time off begins accruing on Day One
  • Eight paid holidays
  • Company-paid life insurance and short-term disability
  • Paid training, certification assistance, and continuing education
  • Take-home company vehicle for work purposes only
  • Stable, year-round employment with advancement opportunities

Overtime is paid for all hours worked over 40.

What You'll Need

Most of these requirements are necessary to safely and successfully perform the job.

  • At least 18 years of age
  • A valid driver's license (not just a permit or limited license) held for at least 3 years with an acceptable driving record
  • The ability to safely move about customer locations, ascend and descend stairs and ladders, and work in tight or hard-to-reach spaces
  • The ability to safely move items and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • The ability to work outdoors in all regular seasonal weather conditions
  • Comfort using computers, smartphones, and related technology
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid attention to detail
  • Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • Availability to work some Saturdays
  • High school diploma or equivalent
