Associated Fire Protection is seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team. As a Fire Sprinkler Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, performing repairs, light installations and maintaining fire sprinkler systems, as well as various types of fire protection systems and equipment as needed.

Essential Functions- including but not limited to:
  • Perform inspections, testing, light repair and inspections, on sprinkler systems, and other types of fire protection systems and equipment as needed, in compliance with electrical and fire safety codes.
  • Ensure systems are functioning correctly and address any issues that arise.
  • Ensure that all systems meet local and national fire safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot fire sprinkler systems as needed.
  • Complete inspection reports and repair work orders via mobile device and submit them on a timely basis.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Pull material for jobs as required.
  • Communicate with customers to review work and answer any service, quality or technical questions.
  • Other job specific functions may be required depending on level.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service.

  • This position includes a lot of interaction with customers and coworkers. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and enjoy collaboration with others.

Requirements
Qualifications, Experience and Education- including but not limited to:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working on fire sprinkler systems, or related systems is required.
  • Must be able to obtain any licenses or certifications as required in the area that you are working.
  • Experience working with fire protection and suppression systems is required.
  • Perform simple tasks independently.
  • Knowledge of local and national fire protection codes.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer, phone and tablet literate.
  • Well organized, self-motivated, flexible and a team player.
  • Ability to perform physical and mental functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to drive to and from jobs and have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job. Qualified candidates must be able to respond to NY emergency service calls.
  • Ability to work on Job sites that may include construction sites and other locations where personal protective equipment will be required, and work in confined spaces.
  • The position has frequent periods of stress.
  • Job sites may include schools, hospitals, jails, pharmaceutical companies and other companies that may require additional background checks and medical and drug screens.
