Description
The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication at Hofstra University is pleased to invite applications for an Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor in the area of Film Production in the Department of Radio, Television, Film.
Candidate should be able to teach the fundamental practices of directing, cinematography, visual storytelling and editing using AVID and Premiere Pro.
In addition, the candidate should have a body of creative work in at least one of these practices.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have professional experience in film production in a creative aspect of the medium.
  • Have a strong command of the digital editing software used for the class (both AVID and Premiere Pro).
  • Have some teaching and/or production workshop experience.

Qualifications
• Terminal Degree (MFA) or at least 5 years professional experience in a related field.
• Candidate should be able to teach the fundamental practices of directing, cinematography, visual storytelling and editing using AVID and Premiere Pro.
• Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusive in an educational environment.

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
