What is a persona?

Personas are fictional characters or profiles created to represent different user types, customers, or stakeholders within a business or product context. They help teams understand and empathize with the needs, behaviors, and goals of their target audience. By using personas, organizations can tailor their products, services, and marketing strategies to better meet the expectations of their intended users. Personas are typically based on real data collected through research and interviews, making them valuable tools for decision-making and communication.

What are some common challenges faced by persona designers when creating user avatars, and how can they be addressed?

Persona Designers often encounter challenges such as balancing user privacy with personalization, ensuring inclusivity across diverse user groups, and aligning avatars with the brand's identity. Addressing these requires thorough user research, close collaboration with UX teams, and iterative prototyping to gather feedback. Staying updated on accessibility standards and incorporating diverse perspectives helps create avatars that resonate with a wide audience.

Job description

About Persona

Persona is the configurable identity platform built for businesses in a digital-first world. Verifying individuals and organizations is harder - but more important - than ever, with AI enabling fraudsters to launch sophisticated accounts at scale and regulations evolving rapidly.

We’ve built Persona to support practically every use case and industry - that’s why we’re able to serve a wide range of leading companies. For example, Reddit relies on Persona for age assurance and verification to comply with online safety regulations, protecting younger users while maintaining a seamless experience. Meanwhile, OpenAI relies on Persona to keep bad actors out, protecting one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms from large-scale abuse in a time when AI is reshaping the way we work and live.

We’re growing rapidly and looking for exceptional people to join us!

About the Role

Persona is seeking a junior attorney to provide support on commercial matters. As Associate Commercial Counsel, you’ll have a broad range of responsibilities providing legal guidance on commercial matters. First and foremost, you will be responsible for managing and negotiating commercial relationships that contribute to our success, including vendor and sales contracts. Knowledge of relevant state and international privacy laws including CCPA and GDPR is a plus. This role will be located in our San Francisco office and you will be expected to be in the office three times per week.

What you'll do at Persona

  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements involving the company’s products and services including nondisclosure agreements and sales agreements.

  • Work directly with the sales team to complete sales negotiations swiftly while still protecting the company.

  • Negotiate vendor agreements.

  • Draft, update and maintain form agreements.

  • Provide advice to the Post-Sales team regarding customer issues.

  • Provide general support as needed including on non-commercial matters, which may include assisting with drafting internal policies and implementing related processes.

What you'll bring to Persona

  • 2- 4 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or similar environment

  • A J.D. and active membership in at least one state bar

  • Experience with commercial negotiation and drafting skills

  • Good judgment and an ability to learn quickly with minimal guidance

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectively

Benefits and Perks

For full-time US-based employees (excluding internship and contractor opportunities), Persona offers a wide range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision, 3% 401(k) contribution, unlimited PTO, quarterly mental health days, family planning benefits, professional development stipend, wellness benefits, among others.

For full-time UK employees, Persona offers a wide range of benefits, including private medical insurance, dental insurance, a 6% employer pension contribution, unlimited PTO, a monthly wellness stipend, professional development stipend, co-working stipend, and more.

As part of our interview process, all candidates will be asked to verify their identity with Persona. This step is used solely to confirm that candidates are who they say they are, and will have no impact on hiring decisions.
