The Civil Engineer will support the planning, design, and execution of land development projects across a diverse portfolio that includes mixed-use, commercial, residential, institutional, healthcare, education, and community-focused developments. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee civil engineering designs for land development projects including commercial, mixed-use, multifamily, institutional, healthcare, and residential developments
  • Design site layouts, grading plans, storm drainage systems, utility infrastructure, erosion control plans, and construction documents
  • Perform stormwater management, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses
  • Coordinate project permitting efforts with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and reviewing authorities
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate with planners, surveyors, landscape architects, architects, and other project consultants
  • Participate in client meetings and maintain strong working relationships throughout project delivery
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination efforts
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure quality, constructability, and compliance with local regulations
  • Assist with construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination
  • Mentor junior engineering staff and support team development initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • 4-12 years of experience in civil site design and land development engineering
  • PE preferred; candidates actively progressing toward PE licensure will also be considered
  • Strong experience with grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility design, and site development projects
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required
  • Experience preparing construction documents and permitting packages required
  • Familiarity with North Carolina development regulations and permitting processes preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and client-facing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a consulting environment
