Job Description:
Responsible for planning, developing and coordinating Construction Project Management ("CPM") schedules for capital projects in transportation sector for all project phases, from planning and design, to construction through project close-out. Prepare Basis of Schedule in accordance with client requirements; review construction design drawings and specifications; conduct field visits to project/client sites to assemble data required to plan and develop CPM construction schedule in appropriate WBS format; prepare CPM scheduling activities and develop logic relationships and activity durations; perform bottom-up resource and cost loading; prepare CPM schedule reports with project duration, using perimetric and unit rate production rates, critical path, total float, milestones, constraints, and related parameters; perform continuous schedule updates and provide assistance to project controls staff for determining earned value management; review and analyze contractor baseline and monthly progress schedule updates and contractor change order requests to determine impact on construction schedule; report contractors progress using Earned Value metrics; prepare and analyze milestone, bar chart, and CPM schedules and make recommendations for mitigating schedule slippage. Position duties require extensive utilization of P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management software, Microsoft Project, Visio and Procore. Position based in Raleigh, North Carolina and requires approximately 90% travel time to client project sites within North Carolina. May work from home up to two days per month, subject to change at any time.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management, followed by minimum five years of progressive experience in the position offered.
