Corporate Tax Senior Associate

Location: Los Angeles, CA 90071 (Hybrid — Minimum 3 days/week in office or at client site)

Position Type: Full-Time / Permanent (Backfill)

Salary Range: $197,800 – $255,904 base salary + Annual Performance Bonus (commensurate with experience)

Role Summary

As a Corporate Tax Senior Associate in our Corporate Tax Solutions practice, you will play a pivotal role in delivering tax planning, corporate compliance, and end-to-end ASC 740 income tax accounting (provision preparation, review, and audit support) for large and multinational clients.

You will work closely with managers, directors, partners, and technical specialists across our practice to serve as a key technical resource and day-to-day point of contact for client engagements.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Execution & Compliance
  • ASC 740 Tax Provisions: Prepare, perform primary review, and support audit engagements for complex ASC 740 income tax provisions under US GAAP.
  • Tax Compliance & Review: Conduct primary and secondary reviews of corporate, federal, state, and local income tax returns prepared by staff, ensuring accuracy and identifying tax-saving opportunities.
  • Tax Planning & Research: Research complex tax technical matters, assess the tax implications of client operations, and support the implementation of innovative tax-planning strategies.
Client Management & Operations
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for client engagements, building strong working relationships with client management and finance teams.
  • Support project management fundamentals, including tracking engagement metrics (realization, utilization, leverage), managing deliverables to budget, and maintaining strict adherence to client confidentiality.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Directly mentor, train, and guide staff associates on tax software, ASC 740 workflows, and compliance projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback and participate in staff performance reviews.
Qualifications & RequirementsMust-Have Requirements
  • Licensure: Active CPA or JD / active attorney license (Required).
  • Public Accounting Experience: Demonstrated background in public accounting working with larger or multinational corporate clients.
  • ASC 740 Expertise: Hands-on, end-to-end experience with ASC 740 income tax provisions (preparation, review, and audit support).
Technical & Soft Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation, LLM, or JD preferred).
  • Experience: 3–6+ years of progressive corporate/federal tax compliance and ASC 740 accounting experience.
  • Software: Proficiency with corporate tax software; experience with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) is strongly preferred.
  • Broad Tax Knowledge: Working knowledge of statutory income tax compliance, state and local tax (SALT), international tax concepts, and transfer pricing fundamentals.
  • Communication & Mobility: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to commute 3 days/week to the downtown LA office or client sites as needed.
