What does a performance marketing manager do?

A Performance Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing digital marketing campaigns with a focus on measurable results, such as leads, sales, or app installs. They use data-driven strategies across channels like paid search, social media ads, display advertising, and affiliate marketing to maximize return on investment (ROI). The role often involves analyzing campaign performance, managing budgets, running A/B tests, and working with creative and analytics teams to improve performance. Their main goal is to drive targeted traffic and achieve specific business objectives efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a performance marketing manager?

To thrive as a Performance Marketing Manager, you need expertise in digital marketing strategies, data analysis, and campaign optimization, often supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Job description

Space Boost is a performance marketing agency running paid acquisition for business owners across the U.S. and Canada. We're hiring one person to own our Meta ad accounts and lead our small delivery team.

Most media buyers hand a lead off and never hear about it again. Not here. You'll see what happened to every lead you generate — booked, showed, closed — and that's the number you're judged on.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Once a client signs, the ads are yours. You decide where the budget goes, you build the campaigns, you read the numbers daily, and you cut whatever isn't producing booked appointments.

Two people support you: a creative marketer who builds ad creative full-time, and an appointment setter who calls every lead we generate. You tell both of them what to work on each week.

This is an ownership role, not a task queue. You're measured on booked appointments and what they turn into, not on how many things you shipped.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

- Every client's Meta ad account: budgets, audiences, testing, scaling, and cutting what's dead

- Direction for the creative marketer, including what to build next and reviewing what comes back

- Oversight of the appointment setter, including speed to lead, contact rate and show rate

- A short weekly check-in with each client on how their appointments performed

- Onboarding for each new client: sub-account setup, pipelines, calendars, automations, and getting the first campaign live

REQUIREMENTS

- Hands-on experience buying Meta ads for lead generation (not ecommerce)

- Working knowledge of GoHighLevel: sub-accounts, pipelines, calendars and automations, without needing a tutorial open

- You think in cost per booked appointment and cost per closed deal

- Comfortable directing two teammates and holding them to a standard

- Fluent English with minimal accent. On a call, a North American client should never have to ask you to repeat yourself

- Reliable internet and power, and a quiet space for client calls

SCHEDULE AND LOCATION

- Full-time, 100% remote

- 9:00am to 5:00pm Eastern Time, Monday to Friday

- Contract position

- Start date: immediately, or as soon as you're free

HOW TO APPLY

A short form and a required Loom video.

Record a 3 to 5 minute Loom with your screen shared, walking through a Meta ad account you've personally run. Blur the client name if you need to. Tell us what the offer was, what you were paying per lead and per booked appointment, what you changed when it wasn't working, and where the numbers ended up.

No intro slides and no career summary. We'd rather see the account than hear about you.

Applications without a working Loom link are not reviewed.
