Job Description
Job Summary
The Performance Improvement Specialist at The Shriners Hospital for Children is responsible for leading and supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality, efficiency, and safety of patient care and operational processes. This role involves data analysis, process mapping, and the implementation of evidence-based practices to drive continuous improvement throughout the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate existing workflows, systems, and processes to pinpoint areas for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
    Gather and analyze performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to quantify problems, track progress and update dashboards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop practical solutions, which may include process redesign or the implementation of new technologies.
  • Lead or participate in projects using methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, or RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to achieve ongoing enhancements in patient safety.
  • Create and deliver training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other documentation to support successful adoption of optimized processes.
  • Prepare and assist in presenting reports on project performance, findings, and recommendations to leadership and other relevant committees.

Required Qualifications
  • High school Diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Experience in performance improvement/process improvement
  • Strong computer skills required (including strong skills in Microsoft Excel)

The pay range for this position is $73,559.20 - $110,350.24. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
