Job description

Job Title: Performance Engineer

Department: Performance Engineering

Reports To: Manager of Performance Engineering

Work Schedule: Full Time


Summary:

Performance Engineers are responsible for the daily tasks of the Performance Engineering Department. They work closely with the DO, Performance Engineering management, and other departments as necessary, to ensure the department operates safely, efficiently, and in conjunction with company policies and procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Works as a liaison between Kalitta Air, its vendors, customers, and other strategic partners as required.

· Manages, updates, and improves flight planning software and associated procedures.

· Manages, updates, and improves aircraft performance software, to include enroute and takeoff and landing performance software.

· Manages, updates, and improves EFB programs, such as charting programs, electronic flight release programs, and electronic logbook.

· Manages and audits aircraft NavDB and TerrianDB.

· Completes other tasks and projects as directed by the DO.

· Coordinates with other departments to ensure best practices are utilized for the most efficient operation possible.

· Identifies and/or reacts to operational issues, and deploys corrective actions as required.


Education:

High School Diploma or GED

College Degree Preferred


Qualifications:

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills

· Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office)

· Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and a positive attitude

· Must be able to work independently and to carry out duties to completion within parameters of instructions given

· Excellent organizational skills

· Five (5) years of 121 airline operations experience

· Three (3) years in a management or leadership position



Language/ Mathematical Skills:

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English
