Job description

FloSports is the leading digital platform for underserved sports, combining live and on-demand streaming, original programming, data, and technology to help sports grow their audiences and build sustainable businesses, from youth to professional levels. By bringing thousands of events and communities onto one platform, Flo creates scale where none previously existed, connecting passionate fans with the sports they love while giving athletes, organizers, and rights holders the tools to reach and engage a global audience.

Flo streams more than 50,000 live events annually across sports, including motorsports, wrestling, hockey, track & field, cheer, jiu-jitsu, NCAA Division II and III athletics, and more. We’re looking for people who are passionate about sports, embody accountability, collaboration, curiosity, positivity, grit, and excellence, and are motivated to help grow and elevate the communities we serve.

THE ROLE:

As a key member of the Marketing leadership team, the Director of Performance Marketing will lead FloSports’ Paid Media function, driving subscriber growth through highly analytical, performance-driven strategies. This Austin-based role reports to the VP of Growth and owns the end-to-end performance of paid channels, with a particular emphasis on Paid Search alongside a strong Paid Social program.

This is a hands-on leadership role within a complex and highly seasonal business. Success requires constant evaluation, optimization, and budget reallocation to capture demand across sports verticals and customer segments. You will not be stepping into a set-it-and-forget-it environment. Instead, you will play a critical role in shaping strategy in real time and ensuring the business is capitalizing on every growth opportunity throughout the year.

You will bring deep expertise in media mix modeling, budget management, and attribution, along with the ability to step back and see the broader growth picture while remaining close to execution. FloSports already has a strong ROI foundation, and this role is focused on unlocking the next phase of growth by scaling efficiently and identifying new opportunities.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, exceptionally organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of complexity. You take ownership of outcomes, translate data into clear and actionable insights, and lead teams to test, learn, and scale what works. Most importantly, you are excited by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help unlock the full potential of FloSports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and lead FloSports’ Paid Media strategy across Paid Search and Paid Social, managing and mentoring a small, high-impact team while remaining deeply hands-on in execution.

  • Drive subscriber acquisition through scalable, data-driven strategies with a strong focus on long-term value. Optimize toward LTV-based performance, ensuring efficient and sustainable growth across ROAS, CAC, and CPA.

  • Fully own and manage large-scale media budgets, ensuring effective allocation across channels, audiences, and sports verticals. Continuously evaluate performance to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, incremental revenue, and channel expansion.

  • Monitor performance daily and weekly, delivering clear and consistent reporting. Identify gaps, diagnose root causes, and develop actionable strategies to close those gaps and improve overall performance.

  • Play a critical role during key seasonal moments and major events, adjusting strategy in real time to capture demand. Provide additional oversight during high-priority periods, including occasional weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Partner closely with channel leads to optimize campaigns, test new tactics, and unlock incremental growth opportunities. Lead by example as a hands-on operator who can dive into the details when needed.

  • Define KPIs and success metrics aligned to both short-term acquisition goals and long-term subscriber value. Ensure the team is consistently optimizing toward durable, scalable growth.

  • Partner with Business Intelligence to strengthen attribution modeling, with a focus on improving multi-touch attribution and enabling more accurate LTV-based decision making.

  • Lead experimentation roadmaps across channels, creative, and offers to identify and scale new growth levers.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Integrated Marketing, Lifecycle, Brand, Creative, and Content teams to ensure alignment across the full customer journey and maximize overall impact.

  • Translate complex performance data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leadership, influencing broader growth strategy.

  • Identify and evaluate new channel opportunities and expansion areas, building the business case for investment and scaling what works.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of experience in performance marketing, growth, or acquisition within B2C subscription businesses. Experience in streaming, digital media, or technology preferred.

  • Proven track record managing and scaling large paid media budgets across Google, Bing, and Meta, driving efficient subscriber growth.

  • Deep expertise in Paid Search and Paid Social, with strong hands-on experience in campaign execution and optimization.

  • Strong analytical foundation with experience in attribution modeling, multi-touch attribution, and customer lifetime value. Ability to optimize toward LTV for long-term, sustainable growth.

  • Experience with forecasting, budget planning, and media mix modeling, with the ability to connect channel performance to business outcomes.

  • Proven ability to identify performance gaps and translate data into clear, actionable strategies.

  • Experience operating in fast-paced, highly seasonal environments requiring continuous optimization and adaptability.

  • Experience leading small, high-performing teams with a hands-on management style.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, budgets, and workstreams.

  • Familiarity with lifecycle and retention marketing concepts, including CRM, engagement, and churn.

  • Google Ads and or Meta certifications are a plus.
