Project Room Coordinator / Production Supervisor
Ottawa, IL

Job Summary
The Project Room Coordinator / Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all Project Room operations while leading daily production activities to ensure work orders are completed safely, accurately, and on time. This role coordinates special projects, manages workflow, supervises employees, maintains inventory accuracy, and partners with Operations, Planning, Quality, and Warehouse teams to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate Project Room work orders, including labeling, relabeling, kitting, bagging, assembly, rework, and other value-added projects.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and track work orders to meet production deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate materials, labels, and components with Planning, Operations, Warehouse, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Supervise Project Room associates and temporary staff by assigning work, providing training, coaching performance, and maintaining a productive work environment.
  • Monitor production workflow, labor, and inventory transactions while ensuring ERP records are accurate and up to date.
  • Perform quality inspections and ensure products, labels, and packaging meet company and customer standards.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy for Project Room materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and the Label Room.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while supporting Lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues, improve processes, and support operational goals.
  • Participate in staffing, onboarding, employee development, and performance management activities.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, production, packaging, project coordination, or distribution.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, work order management, and inventory control.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, labeling systems, or continuous improvement is preferred.
