Founded in 1994, DCS Contracting, Inc. is a leading heavy civil general contractor specializing in highway, roadway, and underground utility construction in both the public and private sectors throughout the state of Arizona.  As a locally-owned general contractor who self-performs 75% of our revenue, our skilled workforce provides exceptional craftmanship that sustains our communities for decades to come.

We are looking for hard working Underground Laborers / Pipe Layer Helpers to join our team!  This is a full-time position with pay starting at $20+ an hour, depending on experience.  Our crews work 8 hours a day which includes summer hours from 5am to 1pm and winter hours from 7am to 3pm.  Work hours may vary.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Underground Laborer is responsible for supporting the underground/wets crews in completing various construction tasks. This position plays a key role in ensuring our projects are built on-time and ahead of schedule!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general construction labor, including job site clean-up
  • Assist crew members is varies labor tasks
  • Move various construction materials, both by hand and utilizing various material transport mechanisms
  • Engage in preparation work to ready worksite for other crew members to perform defined tasks
  • Operate motorized equipment including power tools, saws, etc.
  • Monitor processes, materials, and/or surroundings
  • Perform functions according to company and OSHA safety guidelines
  • Clean, inspect and perform routine maintenance of equipment and tools
  • Load and unload materials, machinery, and tools
  • Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards
  • Meet production goals from the direction of the site Foreman or Superintendent
  • Adheres to all DCS Contracting safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • General knowledgeable of OSHA standards and requirements
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to learn and accept direction from field supervision
  • Must be a team player and be willing to help out wherever is needed for the success of the project
  • Safety first mindset, MUST stop work if something is unsafe
  • Reliable transportation and work schedule flexibility
  • Ability to get the job done with minimal supervision
  • MUST be reliable and dependable
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work shift
  • Must be able to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
