What is performance chiropractic?

Performance chiropractic is a specialized branch of chiropractic care focused on optimizing physical performance, preventing injury, and enhancing recovery for athletes and active individuals. These chiropractors use a combination of manual adjustments, soft tissue therapies, rehabilitative exercises, and movement assessments to improve joint mobility, muscle function, and overall body mechanics. The goal is to help clients achieve peak performance, reduce pain, and maintain long-term musculoskeletal health.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a performance chiropractor?

To thrive as a Performance Chiropractor, you need a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, state licensure, and a solid understanding of musculoskeletal health, biomechanics, and sports injury management. Familiarity with diagnostic imaging systems, electronic health records (EHRs), and specialized rehabilitation equipment is important for effective patient care. Excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative approach with other healthcare professionals help build trust and support optimal recovery for patients. These skills and qualities are crucial for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that enhances athletic performance and overall well-being.

What are some typical challenges faced by chiropractors working in a performance-focused clinic?

Chiropractors in performance-focused clinics often work with athletes or highly active individuals, which presents unique challenges such as tailoring treatment plans for faster recovery and optimizing physical performance. Balancing immediate pain relief with long-term preventative care can be demanding, as clients may have high expectations for rapid results. Additionally, collaborating closely with other health professionals, like physical therapists and sports trainers, is common to ensure comprehensive care. Staying current with the latest rehabilitation techniques and evidence-based practices is essential for success in this dynamic environment.

Job description

CLINIC DIRECTOR Doctor of Chiropractic

The Joint Chiropractic โ€” Kalamazoo, Michigan

FULL-TIME | HIGH-VOLUME CLINIC | TOP-PERFORMING IN MI | $100K+ BASE + BONUSES

THE WORLD WE'RE BUILDING

Imagine a clinic where getting people out of pain isn't a transaction โ€” it's the whole point. Where patients don't just get adjusted, they get better, and they tell everyone they know. That's the world we're building at The Joint Chiropractic in Kalamazoo, one patient at a time.

THE TEAM. THE MISSION. THE IMPACT.

You'll lead one of the highest-volume, top-performing Joint Chiropractic clinics in Michigan. Your team: a tight-knit group of front desk pros and Chiropractors who show up caring, cooperative, and locked in. Your mission: deliver world-class chiropractic care, build a clinic patients never want to leave, and grow a business alongside an owner who wants you to win. Every adjustment you make, every relationship you build, moves real people from pain to possibility.

HOW WE WORK

We treat patients like family, not file numbers.

We hold every person on our team to the highest standard โ€” including ourselves.

We measure success by lives changed, not just charts closed.

If your gut just said, โ€œHELL YEAH,โ€ keep reading.

If it didn't, this isn't your clinic โ€” and that's okay.

THE ROLE Clinic Director โ€” Doctor of Chiropractic

Lead patient care and clinic performance for one of Michigan's top-performing Joint Chiropractic locations. This is a full-time role for a DC who wants to practice at a high level, lead a team, and build something real โ€” starting at $100K, plus bonuses and incentives.

Mission alignment: every patient you adjust, every relationship you build, and every teammate you develop pushes us closer to proving that world-class chiropractic care changes lives โ€” delivered with heart, consistency, and excellence.

Youโ€™ll love:
  • Real relief, fast โ€” Delivering handsโ€‘on adjustments that get patients real results, visit one.
  • Patients for life โ€” Building longโ€‘term relationships with people who become raving fans.
  • A team thatโ€™s bought in โ€” Leading and developing a frontโ€‘desk and DC team that shows up caring and cooperative.
  • Changing minds, not just spines โ€” Educating patients on the lifeโ€‘changing power of routine chiropractic care.
  • Ownership of your numbers โ€” Driving your clinic's volume, retention, and growth โ€” and seeing the results of your leadership.
  • Room to grow โ€” Building toward something bigger than a job โ€” a career, a practice, a future.
WANT A PATH TO OWNERSHIP?

I am an out-of-state owner and am open to bringing on a working partner. If you want more than a paycheck, letโ€™s talk.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Commitment to Excellence โ€” You routinely hold your own work to a higher bar than anyone asks of you.
  • Personable & Professional โ€” Patients and teammates trust you the moment you walk in the room.
  • Disciplined & Accountable โ€” You show up on time, do what you said, and own the outcome.
  • Selfโ€‘Starter & Ambitious โ€” You donโ€™t wait to be told โ€” you see what needs doing and do it.
  • Teachable & Coachable โ€” You take feedback as fuel, not a threat.
  • Elite Communicator & Organizer โ€” You run a clinic day with precision โ€” in writing and in person.
WHATโ€™S REQUIRED
  • Education โ€” 4-year Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
  • Credential โ€” Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic college.
  • Boards โ€” Passing scores on NBCE Parts I, II, III, and IV. A recent NBCE SPEC exam is an acceptable alternative for Part IV.
  • License โ€” Valid DC license in Michigan.
  • Insurance โ€” Fully eligible for malpractice insurance in Michigan.
