Description:
The surgical services department has 4 operating suites and 1 endoscopy suite.
The average number of cases per day is 8.
Common cases include ortho total joints, sports medicine, hands, trauma, general surgery, gynecology, C-sections, and endoscopy.
Scrubbing is required for the role.
Charge Nurse and House Supervisor roles are available in the department.
There are certified surgical technologists and registered nurses to assist with scrubbing and room turnover.
All personnel are required to help clean and turnover operating rooms.
The electronic medical record system used is Epic.
Instruments are tracked using a specific system, and providers use another tool for endoscopy procedures.
Shift scheduling typically runs Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1530, with potential adjustments as needed.
