The 'per diem' status means they work on an as-needed basis, filling in shifts when necessary rather than holding a regular full-time schedule. Their duties may also include assisting patients onto stretchers or wheelchairs, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and maintaining communication with medical staff. This role is vital for the smooth operation of healthcare services and patient care.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a per diem patient transporter, and why are they important?
