Job description

Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU Level III

Location: Apple Valley, California

Duration: Contract Assignment

Schedule: Night/Rotating Schedule (Based on Unit Needs)

Position Overview:

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" isย seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The unit supports approximately 190 births per month and cares for high-risk newborns requiring advanced neonatal nursing interventions. The ideal candidate will have strong NICU experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and premature neonates

  • Monitor newborns requiring advanced respiratory and cardiac support

  • Perform detailed neonatal assessments and ongoing patient monitoring

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and specialized neonatal treatments

  • Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams

  • Educate and support parents and family members

  • Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR

  • Respond appropriately to neonatal emergencies and changes in patient condition

  • Maintain compliance with NICU protocols, infection control standards, and patient safety initiatives

  • Participate in discharge planning and family-centered care programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

  • Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required

  • Current BCLS Certification

  • Current NRP Certification

  • Current PALS Certification

  • Strong neonatal assessment and critical care skills

  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as required
