As a Per Diem Neurologist, your work schedule is generally flexible and based on the immediate needs of hospitals, clinics, or medical groups, often covering shifts during staff shortages or peak patient volumes. You may be called in for inpatient consults, outpatient clinics, or emergency coverage, and your assignments can vary from a single shift to several consecutive days. Typically, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. This role allows you to experience a variety of practice settings, but also requires you to quickly adapt to different team dynamics and workflows.
