Texas Biomed is seeking highly qualified Staff Scientists (I, II, III) to join its Applied Science and Innovation (ASI) Division. We are looking for individuals with experience in infectious disease research who are eager to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced, and internationally important organization performing GLP and animal rule biocontainment research in support of developing diagnostics, therapies, and vaccines to protect our nation. Applicants with experience and a track record of success will be prioritized, especially in biosafety level 3 and 4.


The Role:

ยท Design, execute, and contribute to cutting-edge scientific research in a laboratory setting.

ยท Develop and advise on innovative methodologies to achieve research objectives efficiently and effectively.

ยท Prepare and support the publication of research findings, ensuring high-quality contributions to scientific literature.

ยท Assist in drafting and securing grant and contract applications, supporting funding efforts for ongoing research initiatives.

ยท Mentor, coach, and lead team members, fostering a collaborative and accountable research environment.

ยท Provide insights on talent acquisition, retention, and performance management, including promotions, reviews, and salary adjustments, to support team growth and development.

ยท Cultivate strong relationships with faculty and cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and research success.


Our Ideal Candidate:

ยท Ph.D., D.V.M., or equivalent in biomedical sciences, microbiology, virology, immunology, or a related field.

ยท A strong publication record is highly desirable, demonstrating contributions to scientific advancements.

ยท Minimum of 3+ years of postdoctoral research experience, preferably in infectious disease or related field.

ยท Hands-on experience in BSL-3 and BSL-4 environments is strongly preferred, with a deep understanding of biocontainment protocols.
