Job description

Motorcycle Technician

Southern California Motorcycles | Brea, CA

Pay: $22.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience and pay structure

Southern California Motorcycles is hiring a Motorcycle Technician for our service department. We're open to the right person at more than one skill level, from a solid C-level mechanic who handles service, tires, and inspections, to an experienced A-level tech who diagnoses and completes jobs start to finish. If either sounds like you, read on.

This is a professional dealership without the corporate nonsense. We keep our techs busy and we back them with paid factory training and a real path to move up.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform motorcycle maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Handle oil changes, tires, brakes, chains, batteries, and general service
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues (to your experience level)
  • Complete accessory installations and used motorcycle reconditioning
  • Support factory warranty work and dealership repair processes
  • Write up repair orders accurately and document the work performed
  • Test ride motorcycles as needed
  • Keep your area clean and work efficiently without cutting corners on quality or safety

EXPERIENCE LEVELS WE'LL CONSIDER

C-Level Technician

  • 2+ years hands-on motorcycle or powersports experience preferred
  • Handles basic service without constant supervision — tires, oil, brakes, batteries, inspections, general maintenance
  • Wants to learn, take direction, and build toward A-level

A-Level Technician

  • Strong diagnostic and repair experience across the board
  • Completes jobs start to finish, including electrical diagnosis, drivability issues, and larger repairs
  • Comfortable working in a flat-rate / production environment

REQUIREMENTS

  • Motorcycle, powersports, or related mechanical experience
  • Own tools
  • Valid M1 motorcycle endorsement — required for our insurance, no exceptions
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record, able to safely test ride
  • Ducati, Triumph, Royal Enfield, Suzuki, or metric experience preferred
  • Factory training or certifications a plus, not required
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screening

SCHEDULE

  • Full-time, Tuesday–Saturday, 9:30 AM–6:00 PM
  • Occasional overtime or event support

COMPENSATION

  • $22.00–$40.00 per hour, set by experience and skill level
  • Hourly for developing techs; flat rate for experienced A-level techs
  • Pay structure discussed up front based on your ability and how you work best

BENEFITS

  • Health, dental, and life insurance
  • Paid time off and paid sick time
  • Paid factory training
  • Employee discounts on bikes, parts, and gear
  • Room to grow inside the dealership
